March 28, 2018- The day in review
From December 2017, after the general government explained why it was necessary to reconsider the juridical figure for the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, there has been a large number of consecrated women who have been involved in discernment about this canonical configuration. Thanks to this active participation of so many consecrated women who have studied, consulted experts and dialogued in their communities – the delegates have come to the General Assembly with knowledge of the alternatives that have been suggested to the proposal to become a Society of Apostolic Life.
In today’s first meeting, each work team presented the conclusions reached by their group on the afternoon of Holy Tuesday. The Central Commission has sought to encourage delegates to have the right conditions and sufficient time for discernment. The Assembly aims to clearly express the reasons behind the juridical figure it chooses beginning with what is already expressed in the proper law of the consecrated women of Regnum Christi and is characteristic of our vocation. The Assembly is mindful, that even after clarifying the canonical configuration, there will be questions around the topic of identity that will need to be further understood. consecrated women of Regnum Christi. The ordinary General Assembly of 2020 will be a timely opportunity for this.
