On the fourth day of the Assembly, we united in the spirit of Thanksgiving along with our American sisters. The day began with the Eucharistic celebration in English, presided over by Fr. John Pietropaoli, L.C., one of the Chapter fathers.

In his homily, Fr. John referred to today’s readings in the liturgy. Quoting Pope Benedict XVI, he commented that the foundation for gratitude is recognition, and that recognizing the ‘otherness’ of another is essential for the existence of communion.

During group work sessions and plenary meetings, there was more in-depth discussion about the possible models of government, direction and management of the apostolic works. During the last small group session, they began to analyze the chapters of the third edition of the Draft Statutes of the Regnum Christi Federation that deal with government.

Once the sessions were over, they shared an authentic Thanksgiving meal with the other Consecrated Women who live in Rome. They ended the evening with a Eucharistic hour all together.
