The delegates of the second session of the extraordinary General Assembly of Regnum Christi began today’s meetings with an explanation of another possible model for the assignment of apostolic activity. Cristina Danel and Beatriz Pimentel, members of the Technical Commission, answered the delegates’ questions.
Afterwards, Mari Carmen Ávila and Viviana Limón, members of the Editorial Committee, explained how the third edition of the Draft Statutes of the Regnum Christi Federation were done and how the modifications were introduced with respect to the previous draft. The changes are explained in the Presentation section of the third draft.
They refer mainly to:
- The distinction between the Federation, and Regnum Christi as a broader spiritual reality;
- the participation of lay members in the Federation;
- the concept of a Federation that coordinates and directs;
- and the mission and spirit of the Federation.
After this explanation, the delegates approved with absolute majority that the base text for the second session of the General Assembly will be the third draft of the Statutes.
During this Assembly, delegates are working on “propositions” and “motions” for the third draft. The Rules of procedures of the Assembly explains what each of these terms refer to.
During the day they worked in groups to analyze the chapters on the Nature, Spirit and Purpose of the Federation (chapters 1-3). They offered proposals or amendments to these numbers, which were voted on in the final plenary meeting of the day with great consensus.
